We recommend the following to help your child prepare for their first dental appointment: Speak to them in a positive, reassuring way about the appointment. Watching videos or reading children's stories about the dentist is a great way to spend time together. Avoid using negative language and sharing your own dental fears or concerns with your child.
3. Comprehensive Examination:
We will examine your child's teeth, gums, and mouth, checking for signs of decay or any warning signs of developmental problems that need to be addressed.
4. Personalised Oral Health Advice:
We will provide you with professional advice and ensure you understand the best oral hygiene practices for your child based on their age and developmental stage, including recommendations regarding diet, brushing, and flossing.
5. Discussion and Education:
We will take the time to answer all your questions as comprehensively as possible to ensure you are happy and discuss any results of examinations with you, so you are fully informed and aware.
6. Creating a Positive Experience
Our goal is to create a positive experience for your child during their first dental appointment. We will use age-appropriate language, gentle techniques and child-friendly explanations to make sure your child is comfortable and safe throughout the appointment.
